Join the conversation: what does transparency mean to you?

mpip_transparency_matters

A hot topic in the reporting of clinical research, Medical Publishing Insights and Practices (MPIP) is inviting interested parties to share their perspective and ideas on What Transparency Means to Me in a new initiative launched on the Transparency Matters website. Contributions have already been received from the pharmaceutical and medical communications industries, as well as from journal editors and the president of ISMPP, and MPIP would like to hear from you!

Transparency Matters was launched late last year to raise awareness of the importance of transparency in the reporting of industry-sponsored research. MPIP – which was founded by ISMPP and members of the pharmaceutical industry – have created a resource hub with research, tools and recommendations to help improve transparency when reporting such data.

MPIP also invites interested parties to take a pledge to “support the timely, accurate, complete, balanced, and transparent reporting of industry-sponsored research results in adherence with appropriate guidelines and ethical standards”. At the time of writing, 628 people have taken the pledge.
