The ISMPP 12th Annual Meeting is approaching: “Medical Publications in a Data-Rich World”

The 12th Annual meeting of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP) will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center, National Harbor, MD, USA from Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th April 2016. Online registration is open and early bird registration fees are available until 9th March.

The meeting, Medical Publications in a Data-Rich World: Enhancing Quality and Transparency, is centred around the demand for increasing data transparency whilst ensuring quality of publications in this multimedia age.

A range of pre-conference workshops are available and include sessions on ethical and regulatory challenges, global publication planning, patient lay summaries and altmetrics. The presentations on day 1 cover the challenges of meeting the expectations of and communicating to a diverse group of stakeholders and the publication of real world evidence. On day 2 learn about the National Information Standards Organization (NISO), the communication opportunities created by social media, enhanced content and how to deal with the myths surrounding the medical publication profession. On the final day, attend talks on how to improve medical research literature, predatory journals and the future of medical publishing. Parallel sessions running throughout the three days covering a plethora of subjects that will ensure attendees are kept busy and informed. Roundtable discussions are scheduled for each day and new to this year is the chance to join in guided poster tours to allow focussed interactive talks with the poster authors. There will be plenty of opportunities to participate and interact with fellow delegates. A preliminary agenda is available here.
